2. Hosting and technical access data

This website is hosted by IONOS. When a website is opened, technically necessary access data is processed so the site can be delivered securely and reliably. According to IONOS, web-hosting data may include the referrer, requested page or file, browser type and version, operating system, device type and time of access; some visitor data is anonymised by IONOS when it is collected.

Where personal data is involved, processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional website under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. IONOS acts as a processor for the hosting services.

3. Contact form

If you contact us through the form, we process the details you enter, especially your name, email address, subject and message, and where relevant information about the animal you selected. We use this information only to deal with your enquiry and communicate with you afterwards.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to entering into or carrying out an agreement, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. Messages are sent to our contact address through the WordPress mail function and are not stored in a separate enquiry database on the website.

4. Spam and abuse protection

To protect the contact form, we use a simple local calculation question together with technical measures such as a hidden honeypot field, a minimum completion time, WordPress security checks and a limit on repeated submission attempts. The calculation is processed entirely on our website and no external CAPTCHA service is loaded. For rate limiting, the IP address available during access is converted into a non-readable hash key and stored temporarily for no more than ten minutes. This is used only to protect the website from spam and automated abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Cookies and local storage

The public website is designed so that analytics or advertising cookies are not required. Your choice in the privacy banner is stored locally in your browser so it can be remembered on your next visit. This storage is used only to manage your choice.

If you switch the website language to English or German, your choice may be stored in a technically necessary language cookie. This keeps the selected language for your next page view. This cookie is used only for website usability and not for analytics or advertising.

WordPress may set technically necessary login and administration cookies for signed-in administrators. These are required to use the protected admin area.

Optional functions are activated only after you make an explicit choice. You can refuse non-essential functions and withdraw consent at any time for the future. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.

6. Google Search Console

We use Google Search Console to monitor how our website appears in Google Search, spot indexing issues and improve technical search optimisation. Ownership of our domain is verified through a DNS record.

Using Search Console does not add Google Analytics or advertising tracking code to this website. Search Console mainly gives us aggregated information about how the site appears in Google Search, such as search queries, impressions, clicks and indexing issues. If we add further Google services that process data on a visitor’s device in future, we will update the privacy information and consent settings before activating them.

7. Jungle ambience

The optional jungle ambience is provided as an audio file hosted on our own webspace rather than embedded from an external streaming service. Audible playback does not start automatically; you choose whether to activate it. This means the audio feature itself does not require data to be sent to an external audio provider.

8. WhatsApp

Our phone number is not shown as visible text or as a direct WhatsApp address in the public HTML pages. When you click “WhatsApp”, an internal redirect on our server is called first and WhatsApp is opened afterwards. You leave our website only at that point; from then on, the privacy rules of the relevant WhatsApp provider apply. Using WhatsApp is optional. You can also contact us through the contact form or by email.

9. Instagram and TikTok

The website contains links to our Instagram and TikTok profiles. In the current version, these profiles are not embedded as social-media feeds or tracking plugins. A connection to the relevant provider is therefore made only when you open the link. Any further processing on those platforms is governed by the privacy rules of the respective provider.

10. Storage period

Personal data is stored only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose. Correspondence relating to enquiries may be kept longer where legal retention duties apply or where storage is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

11. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and, where processing is based on legitimate interests, the right to object. You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Austrian Data Protection Authority.

12. Changes to this privacy policy

If further services, analytics tools, external media or plugins are added later, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly and, where required, consent will be obtained before those services are activated.
